Based on the reviews, we gave it a try. It's a small shop with take away only and only cash. They were busy with locals, which is always a good sign to me. I ordered the supper fish and chips and it took about 10 mins. We went back to the hotel to eat, the fish was nicely cooked with a good batter. The chips were thick and cooked perfectly. The meal wasn't oily and tasted really good. I would come again.

Delicious real fish chips! As kiwis living in Canada we were homesick for real fish and chips. We found them at Balfours. Lovely fresh fish. Salt and vinegar available. Cooked right before you not left under warming lights. If you are on holiday and missing your fish and chips fix this is the place to go. The staff are very friendly and chatty too.

My first visit was to get my sisters order as she had a bad fall and unable to drive. The ladies were very professional and friendly with bubbly personalities, food was excellent and very tasty and prices very reasonable. Well done ladies, keep up the good work. Thank you
